Nelson Standard Exhaust Silencers (Available Types)

Nelson Standard Exhaust Silencers reduce exhaust noise from all types of internal combustion engines. All silencers are of fully welded design. Aluminized steel is standard material on all silencers through 26" body diameter. Double wrapped body shells are standard on all "300" and "400" level silencers.

Nelson Standard Exhaust Silencers are available in four configuration types shown below. Dual inlet silencers and other configurations are available upon request. Nominal inlet sizes range from 3/4" through 22". Male pipe threads (NPT) are standard on 3/4" through 4" inlet sizes. 4" and above have 125# drilled flanges.

Each silencer style and inlet is offered in four attenuation ranges (except style 2, critical only - limited custom size range.)

  • "100" level - for non-critical environments where ambient noise levels are moderate to high
  • "200" level - for residential environments where ambient noise levels are moderate to low
  • "300" level - for critical environments where ambient noise levels are low
  • "400" level - for ultra critical applications

Silencers are available from stock for shipment within 48 hours from receipt of order. (Stock items only.)

Non-stock, standard silencers require a 6 week lead time and 60 - 90 days for custom designs after drawing and pricing approval.

Type 1 Silencer

All silencers of this type are round, but inlet or outlet tubes may be concentric or eccentric.

*Type 2 Silencer

All silencers are round with side in side out configurations.

Type 3 Silencer

Silencer is designed such that either end can be inlet. End tube may be concentric or eccentric. All are round design.

Type 4 Silencer

Silencer is designed with a middle side inlet. This will solve many mounting problems and give a balanced look to compact applications.

"F" Mounting Flange:

Standard in sizes 4" to 22". Drilling matches 125/150# ASA standard. Companion flanges available for 4" to 22".

"P" Male Pipe Threads:

NPT ends offered in sizes 3/4" through 4".

*These units are built only upon request and require a 6 week lead time.
