This is the only multi-diameter pig that protects the larger diameter discs from touching the smaller diameter pipe, which prevents excessive wear of the discs when the pig is in the smaller diameter pipe. 

Therefore, this pig can run in the small diameter pipe first and be fully functional when it reaches the larger diameter pipe.

The patent-pending design allows the discs to fold into the cup when in the smaller diameter pipe.
